This lesson is designed for students in grades 9-12 to discuss genetically modified crops and the technology behind their existence. The activity provides students with both for and against arguments to give them a well rounded perspective on this controversial crop science.

“While many view genetically modified crops as a promising innovation, there is controversy about their use. This lesson provides students with a brief overview of the technology, equipping them with the ability to evaluate the social, environmental, and economic arguments for and against genetically modified crops.” (National Agriculture in the Classroom, n.d.)
